Preacher:- Rev. ‘Bayo Adeniran

The true gospel is one that wants to do the will of God at all times.

->> Matthew 6:9-10… “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven”

->> Matthew 10:38… “And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me”

The will of God is for us to carry our cross and follow him. Carrying a cross involves you carrying a burden. It is not one that you want to carry but one you have to carry as a disciple of Christ.

No cross…no crown.

->> 1 Peter 2:19… “For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully”

Jesus knows about your current situation. He is observing your disposition towards the ‘cross’ you are carrying.

->> 1 Peter 2:20… “For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God”

Remember what happened to Daniel, despite his steadfastness, he was cast in the den of lions. God will deliver you if you are in the same situation. Don’t change your testimony.

->> Psalms 121:1-4… “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep”

->> Matthew 26: 38,42… “Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done”

We cannot wish the cross away, we must accept it and pray God gives us the grace and strength to carry it.

The example of Jesus Christ is there to follow when we are going through it. There is no cross that will come for you to carry that God can’t give you the grace to carry. When the cross is too heavy for you, look unto Jesus…He is the author and finisher of your Faith.

->> Hebrews 12: 8… “But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons”

->> 2 Timothy 2:3… “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

When you are for Christ, you must fight the good fight of faith and hold on to your profession”

->> 1 Corinthians  10:13… “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it”

When you change your mind to stop following Christ because of some benefits you are missing out on….you end up missing out on EVERYTHING.

We are so close to getting our crowns. If you are not careful at this stage of the journey, you may lose your crown.

->> 1 Samuel 30: 2-3… “And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way. So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives”

Running away from carrying your cross leads you into a wrong crowd, where you will end up fighting a wrong battle.

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivered them from it all”

“They overcame him by the blood of the lamp and by the word of their testimony”

There is a coronation waiting for you, after these many years of affliction. May the devil not steal your crown at the end.

God bless you as you pray
